Greetings once again!!


After thinking about myself thinking of things numerous times, I've come to realize that I have alot of views on various things, and I often think of things, and even of thinking of thinking of other things. So perhaps I shall enlighten you as to my views on life, and maybe answer alot of "why"'s.

The Computer World:

Many people out there use a certain companies product (I wont mention it, but it rhymes with "Microloft"). Thats fine with me (I dont like thier products personally) but people seem to lose sight, and not see things for what they REALLY are.

At the moment, "W*ndows" does not seem to be a reliable, nicely tuned, well developed system. I dont think it ever even SAID it was. The reason it is popular is just one word. Marketing. Sure, its easy to use, but has the power of maybe a box of donuts. Thats the ONLY thing I see going for it, great marketing, and ease of use. There are many systems out there which beat it in just about EVERY aspect, no problem. More and more people rely on it tho, and continue to use it, and it continues to grow! Why? I wont discuss that here, please read my section on the stupid leading the blind. Mr. Gates makes alot of money on stupid people, and thats fine, thats the whole idea of marketing. You've got something that the other person is too stupid to make/do/use on his own. However, in my opinion, he makes TOO much money. If you play with averages a bit, you can narrow Bill's income down to per SECOND! If you take the average of his last two years income (actually PROFIT I believe) (96-98?) you can calculate it out to around $520 PER SECOND!! isnt that sick?

More on Computers

This section was here before, but I've made a bunch of changes to other parts of the page and am WAY too tired to re-vamp this part at this time.

First of all, a 486-33Mhz or 486-100Mhz has plenty of processing power to handle most of whats out there for programs. However, because so many programmers don't really know how to write REAL programs, they end up just throwing things together, not bothering to streamline what they write. With faster and faster processors becoming available to the public, programmers figure the CPU will pickup the slack from the mess they write. I believe that programmers should have a 486 of some flavor. And when the next generation of computers come out, and are widely used (Penti II, whatever) THEN maybe they can upgrade to a P-100 equiv. machine.

A good example is my 386-40Mhz with 8 megs of ram that I'm always talking about. It runs a Web server, Web counter server, ftp server, chat server, sendmail, pop server, email mailing list, name server, firewall, and I can still telnet to it and run other things. All because I do not want to run w95, or any other M$ product. So all this runs on Os/2. I've heard for about 5 years straight that "Os/2 is on its way out" or something along those lines. Well, guess what, its still here, and its still being produced, updated, sold, having programs written for it, and alot of people still use it. Even if they DID stop making it, I really have no other choice, nothing else can perform even close to Os/2.

And speaking of Os/2, I've also heard "Theres no apps written for Os/2!", which is also untrue. Maybe some of the big, heavily advertised things arnt nativily written for Os/2, but theres most likely a few programs out there that'll do the same exact thing.


Stupid People

I've come to the conclusion that there are quite a few stupid people out there! Its getting harder and harder to find someone REAL to talk to, and be able to carry on a somewhat intelligent conversation.

This country RUNS on stupidity! And the stupid leading the blind (no offence to blind people, just a figure of speech). This idea is also derived from my "The Majority is usually WRONG" theory. Alot of people in the world today do not think for themselves, and blindly follow what others do, hoping THEY have made the right choice. People choose not to educate themselves, and put too much trust in others, which causes problems. One of the biggest places I see this is within Doctors. If people could just be in tune a LITTLE more, and learn things on thier own, they would be much happier. However, people rarely LEARN, they may memorize, which is sadly misleading, and pretty much useless. To truely LEARN things, you have to first understand the situation, then find out exactly HOW and WHY it is like that. Then given a similar situation, slightly skewed, you should be able to understand it completely and not need to answer questions. Some people's minds cant do this though, because they've never really put too much thought into ANYTHING thier whole life.

Not everyone can be perfect, even I am stupid in at least one area that I can think of at the moment.


How am I Stupid?

Well, I wouldent really call this stupid, or dumb, but maybe people who dont understand fully (or are stupid?) would think I was for letting myself get in, and stay in this situation.
Nevermind.. I got out of this situation, and am somewhat a little better off now.. Or am I? heres the slightly edited version of what was here before:

To understand this, you need to know a little of my background, and abilities: I have been working with computers for about 12 years, know them inside and out. Can fully figure out a good program in 3 days on my own, can diagnose and fix (or give a solution) to just about anything. Ability to figure things in general out, and discover the hows and whys. Design Networks, figure out ways to do things that "cant be done". Etc.. Etc.. Etc..

The Situation: I (USED TO!) work at a College where I take care of phone system (approx 2,000 lines). This includes various 800 Numbers, voice mailboxes, auto attendants, etc.. etc.. I also change the tapes on the security VCRs on a regular basis, and do what I can to keep cameras up and running when the "other guy" doesent. Additionally I take care of communication wiring (goes with the phone system) this includes Cable TV, so now I have to keep track how how RF works over Coax, and how it gets distorted. Also I must hookup various computer network wiring when people move offices, or a student decides to hook a computer up to the campus network. Sometimes this involes work with fiber optics, more runs of bigger cable (50 pair, 100 pair), and finding a place/way to splice things together. People have come to realize that I know a great deal about things, and call on me to fix databases, reports, computers, and just things in general when they break, get something new, or whatever the case may be.

The Problem? None!! I "solved" it by leaving there, and moving to Las Vegas!!! I'm still trying to convince myself that this move was for the better. Doctors

Doctors love to perscribe drugs, and the taker of the drug does not do ANY, or very little research on the drug, side effects, or even what it really does! Most drugs go after the symtoms - what makes you FEEL sick. You are still sick, you just cant feel it anymore, which is worse then being sick! Sometimes the body thinks its fine because of this, and cannot fight off the disease as much as it should. Theres a song lyric that comes to mind.. "Just kill the pain... go and numb my brain", which is pretty much what happens. You are doing bad things to your brain's chemistry in fooling it to believe that you are not REALLY feeling that sickness in which you are feeling.





Now... on with what was here before...

Welp, this is the place where I'll talk about me, I guess. Didnt want to put it on the first page, cause I wanted to make that a "general overview" type thing. Plus, didnt want to bore people with these little strange details. Whenever I can, I like to Stop, stamp-out, remove, and abolish redundancy. Yeah, yeah.. that was a joke.. c'mon, laugh a little!

Anyways... lets see.. stuff about me... golly-gee! weeee!!! I can rhyme or something. hmm.. oh yeah, ok, I dont get side tracked... EVER! I think.. maybe just a little around the edges.. umm.. what was I gunna do? I wonder if I should go back and delete those three lines... or was it four? what a waste! probably FIVE whole lines of total garbage, I guess it all depends on how wide your browser window thingiee is. right? ya think?? ya think??

OK! Generally, I like to make people laugh whenever I can, basically get them in a good mood. For fun I like to.... umm.. well, I dont know, dont have much spare time actually. Every so often, I hang out on IRC on channel #18-25, and no, its not a "pickup place" so if you go there and say something like "I'm male, and 20 from PA" or something, expect to be kicked. On IRC, or on the phone, I'm usually pretty good, outgoing, and all that stuff at times, but in person, I'm VERY shy, and probably wont say a word. its just "one of those things". Is that BAD?

Since I am single, I spend alot of my time at work, dealing with various projects, and so forth. And if you want to do something about me being single, take a look at my prerequisites for a relationship. I think its real, or I might be joking a little on some things.. (shrug) since I havent written it yet, have to finish THIS page, I dont know! depends on what mood I'm in I suppose.. (grin)

Alot of people have told me they were amazed by my personality, caringness, sensitivity, accomplishments, and the amount of control I have over my life. While most of this is the result of having a great mother, who I've always loved dearly, some of it has also come from (inderectly) one of my ex-girlfriends (actually the ONLY girl I ever felt was a true girlfriend), Jennifer. This might he a sad, heartbreaking story, but feel free to check it out, maybe someday Jenn will see it, and find it in her hart to at least say hello to me.

Oh well.. I'm tired.. going to sleep or something. I'll write more later.


Oh yeah.. By the way, I use OS/2. In this day and age of computers, I want to use a REAL 32 bit operating system. What? Windows95? yeah, right:
windows95 = 32 bit extensions and a graphical shell for a 16 bit patch to an 8 bit operating system originally coded for a 4 bit microprocessor, written by a 2 bit company that can't stand 1 bit of competition.
